AILEY - Mr. John F. "Johnny" Clifton, 60, died Friday. Survivors: wife, Gloria Joseph Clifton; children, Candice Clifton and Derek Clifton and Clay Clifton; mother, Mary C. Clifton; mother-in-law, Margaret Joseph, and other relatives. Funeral: 2 p.m., Sunday in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home. Interment: Pinecrest Cemetery. Ronald V. Ailey,
Mr. John F. “Johnny” Clifton, age 60 of Ailey, died Friday, April 30, 2010 at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, and a 1967 Graduate of Montgomery County High School. He was a farmer for many years, and in 1981 was named “Man of the Year” in the Soil and Water Conservation Monthly. He was employed with Weyerhaeuser of Lyons for ten years, and was the Executive Director of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce for ten years. He was a member of the Higgston Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by his father, T.R. Clifton on April 9th 2010.
 
Mr. Clifton is survived by his wife, Gloria Joseph Clifton of Ailey, three children, Candice Clifton and Derek Clifton of Savannah and Clay Clifton of Ailey, his mother, Mary C. Clifton of Ailey, his mother-in-law, Margaret Joseph, a sister-in-law, Darla Kicklighter of both of Glennville, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He loved and was loved by his friends and family.
 
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 2nd at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend David Blalock and Reverend Mark Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening beginning at 6:00 pm.
