May 03-- Mrs. Louvenia Logan Phillips, age 89 of Lyons, died Monday,
May 3, 2010 in the Bethany Nursing Center of Vidalia after a brief illness. She was a native of Oak Park, living in Mt. Vernon for ten years, and in Toombs County most of her life. She was a homemaker, and was employed at Lyons Manufacturing for several years. She was a member of Lotts Creek Church of God near Mt. Vernon, and was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Phillips, one son, Roy Phillips, two daughters, Dealva Hamilton and Loretta Hardin, and eleven siblings.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by one daughter, Aldene Phillips Colson of Lyons, a daughter-in-law, Judy Phillips of Lyons, a son-in-law, Mac Hamilton of Mt. Vernon, nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 5th at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Sam Creamer officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Park City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
