LANCASTER: Marquita K. McCray, 69, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Fairfield Medical Center.
She was born February 20, 1940 in Lancaster and was the daughter of the late Everett and Lola (Lloyd) Bobbitt. Marquita had many jobs over her lifetime but especially liked the people she met while working at Cracker Barrel in Pickerington.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Arthur McCray, Sr.; three sons, Arthur (Cathy) McCray, Jr. of Baltimore, Kenny (Kathy) McCray, and Chris McCray both of Lancaster; eleven grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren; sister, Alma Franks of Lancaster; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alberta (Hobie) Johnson of Lancaster, Steve (Mary) McCray of Marysville, Don (Sue) McCray of Bremen, and Deloris Saunders of Lancaster; good friends, Yogi and Linda Mathias of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews; she is also survived by her two loving four legged friends, Holly and Little Bit. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Rev. Mr. Paul Deshaies officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
